Often called "The King of Bromeliads" its a Brazilian native that lives up to its reputation as a spectacular foliage plant. A graceful rosette with wide green leaves marked with chocolate-brown reticulations. At maturity it may reach an impressive four feet in diameter, but is a slow grower and has become scarce in collections.
